The end of the year is usually a time of introspection. Many people in Texas use this as an opportunity to look back over the past year and to consider their hopes and goals for the future. These strains do not necessarily cause marital breakdown, but they do help unhappy couples realize that they do not want to go through these same experiences again. Still, most divorce filings related to the holiday do not happen until January.
This does not mean that people are choosing to file for divorce because of one bad holiday season. Although Texas couples decide to end things for all kinds of different reasons, the end of the year is unique in its ability to put pressure on all the problems that married couples face.
